Commercial firm expanding into Philadelphia

A growing commercial real estate firm is expanding into Philadelphia.

From 11 to 53 offices in more than 40 markets, the past four years have been busy for Avison Young, the world's fastest growing commercial real estate services firm.

Mark Rose, CEO of Avison Young, announced that his firm will open its 38th office outside of Canada in Philadelphia. Avison Young's headquarters are based in Toronto.

"The addition of a Philadelphia office is critical to Avison Young's full-service client platform in the Northeast Corridor," Rose said. "This team comprises industry leaders with a proven track record of client satisfaction, leasing expertise and successful advisory assignments. I could not be more delighted to have David, Patrick K., Paul and Patrick B. lead our expansion in the greater Philadelphia region."

Philadelphia office is in the right spot
Rose pointed to Philadelphia's accessibility to nearby New York, Boston and Washington D.C. as a big reason for the new office in eastern Pennsylvania.

"There is a natural in-state synergy with our Pittsburgh office in a market that is thriving," Rose said. "Philadelphia's proximity to our major Canadian markets in Toronto and Montreal, as well as these American cities, will also enhance opportunities for more cross-border transactions."

Rose believes the benefits of the new East Coast won't be limited to North America. The Philadelphia branch should help the firm bolster connections as it expands to Europe and Asia.

Quartet of respected industry professionals now in Philly
David Fahey will head operations in the Philadelphia branch as the office's managing director. Fahey will be joined by Patrick Kelley and Paul French, two longtime experts with ties to the Philadelphia real estate industry, as Principals.

"Avison Young has grown with marked momentum in the U.S. during the past four years, with numerous acquisitions and hires," said Earl Webb, Avison Young's head of U.S. operations. "The strategic hire of this team of respected professionals will give us further momentum as we continue building the Avison Young brand."

Fahey is a 19-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He was formerly the president of the commercial division at Binswanger. Patrick Brady also joins Avison Young's new Philadelphia office as a vice president.

"I could not be more delighted to have David, Patrick K., Paul and Patrick B. lead our expansion in the greater Philadelphia region," Rose said.
