Even minor apartment problems can scare away renters

Bugs, as well as other problems can deter renters quickly.

Commercial property managers have to deal with many issues when it comes to upkeep of their properties. But according to Jessica Fiur from Multi-Housing News, there are some items that may need immediate attention in order to keep tenants happy.

If the apartment has a laundry room, it is important to make sure that everything works properly, and if it doesn't, it is vital to get it fixed as soon as possible, she noted. This may not seem like a big problem, but this can frustrate renters quite easily.

In the summer, one of the worst things that could happen in an apartment is the failing of the air conditioner. Fiur noted that this can be absolutely miserable for renters to deal with, as they may have no choice to take drastic measures to stay cool during a heat wave.

Bugs – especially cockroaches – can make any resident feel immediately uncomfortable, Fiur added. These insects are a part of life anywhere, but it may be a good idea for a property manager to keep an eye on the problem, as when there is one bug, there could be many more.
